Hi folks! I occasionally like to share things I’m doing that I am really enjoying. This post is going to be about things I do or use daily or weekly that I’ve been doing for quite a while that I still stand by.
Bob’s Burgers and Yoga: I’m pretty solidly an introvert when it comes to my home life, and I doubt that is going to change anytime soon. I’m trying to spend more time outside of work with people, but one of my favorite ways to squeeze in some low impact exercise is to put on an episode of Bob’s Burgers and stretching to my heart’s content. I’ve taken a lot of yoga classes over the years, so what I am doing could loosely be called yoga, but I’ve even used my Bob’s Burgers exercise time to run in place and around inside a little bit or do squats. The length of the episodes gets me going for at least 22 minutes, but sometimes keeps me going for a second episode.
Good Mythical Morning: I’m not sure if my investment in Rhett and Link’s YouTube morning show is fueled by nostalgia at this point, but I do know that I appreciate starting the morning with their pretty wholesome shenanigans. These two fellows have been friends since the first grade. Now, they are both fathers and have been successfully being YouTube celebrities for years now. They tour, have made movies, they’ve written a book together, and they have merch. I recently bought one of their Mythical Beast t-shirts and it is one of my favorite weekend shirts.
The InnerGuide Planner: I’ve used a lot of planners over the years, and in general my favorite type to use are the “mom planners.” They are often called family planners, and the promotional material usually lets you know you can keep track of dinners and scheduling for your children on it. I don’t have children and I don’t take on the task of planning dinners by myself. I used these planners in the past because they gave me enough room to plan out my week by the hour and include appointments and tasks. Smaller planners don’t really help me organize my time, they just help me remember things. The InnerGuide planner has the hourly spread each day like family planners do, but it also includes prompts to help you set intentions and reflect at the end/beginning of each month. It even has a mood tracker and a type of wellness wheel so you can keep track of your priorities and thought patterns. It’s also beautiful!
What do you do to bring silliness, movement, and thoughtfulness into your life? I’d love to hear your tips too!
